The CANNES LIONS 2020 postponed

Coronawirus is becoming an increasingly common topic not only on our blog. The virus pandemic is becoming wider and wider. More and more often hear about the cancellation of international events.
An example here is the European Football Championship, which was to take place this year and was postponed to 2021. However, as far as the advertising industry is concerned, in this case there have been some changes.

I am talking more specifically about the Cannes Lions festival, which awards the most creative advertising campaigns from around the world. Initially, the event was to take place in June this year, but due to the development of the coronavirus pandemic, the organizers decided to move the event to October.

The new jury submissions and dates will be announced again soon. There are also plans to extend these deadlines.

Cannes Lions is writing:

The 2020 Festival will now take place from 26 – 30 October. This decision was made following productive talks with our valued partners and customers, and following consultation with public health officials, the City of Cannes and the French Authorities. As always, the health, safety and wellbeing of our community is our priority.
